Rainbows,

inspires children.

Multicoloured sky arc,

mystical wealth beyond their reach.

This is my first attempt at the Cinquain poetry form, I would appreciate informative feedback on my technique and structure in this poetry discipline in the hope of improvement.  Thank you for taking the time reading this Cinquain poem, if that is what it is.

Very good first attempt Paul. I can relate to this as I used to always try to find the end of the rainbow as a child, looking for that elusive “Pot of Gold” 🙂 So I enjoyed this poem.
One thing I did notice is I believe your fourth line needs one more syllable–Cinquain poems are 5 lines with syllables of 2-4-6-8-2
Perhaps just adding a “The” at the beginning of the fourth line would work.
Great read none the less….Blessings and keep writing!

Thank you for taking such an interest in this poem and commenting. I understand the structure of cinquain poetry and the syllable count. I think you will find this poem meets the requirements, as there are 8 syllables on line 4.

I thought a rainbow would be a great subject for a cinquain and I am glad you can relate to it and I hope that someday you find your elusive ‘Pot of Gold’.
