You, who extinguished the tall flames of my expectation

bruised my flesh, fastened chains about my ankles

tethered my adolescent whimsical thoughts

around the stake of paranoid jealousy

imprisoning my individualism

in a cage of cold wrought

soulless steel. Your

inadequacies

denied

us

.
